NRP 84 is launching a new initiative to amplify the voices of its early-career researchers and associated students.

“Views from Early-Career Researchers” invites doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, as well as those transitioning to independence, to contribute short, evidence-based opinion pieces based on their project work. The goal is to foster public engagement with the research and innovations emerging from NRP 84, while providing early-career researchers with an opportunity to develop their science communication skills.

This initiative is open to researchers at early career stages within NRP 84 projects. Participants are encouraged to submit opinion pieces that highlight their research findings, or describe challenges or innovative ideas related to new plant breeding technologies.

The main audience will be the NRP 84 community, including researchers, collaborators and stakeholders. However, the pieces will also be accessible to the general public via website and newsletters, offering insights into the cutting-edge work being done inside NRP 84.

Interested project participants of NRP 84 are asked to submit a brief pitch of 100-150 words outlining their proposed topic. Mirko Bischofberger, Head of Knowledge Exchange, will provide support and guidance to contributors to help write and refine their pieces for a broader audience. Project leaders are especially encouraged to support and nominate early-career researchers.
